When Do I Need To Start Taking My Child To The Dentist?

This is probably the most common question we get from parents. While the age that babies get their first baby teeth can vary from 6-12 months, we typically say that children should visit their Las Vegas NV pediatric dentist between ages one and two.

You may find yourself asking:

“These baby teeth will just fall out. Does it really matter if I take them to the dentist?”

The answer to that is an emphatic ‘YES’.

Even though these teeth are not their permanent adult teeth, they will need them to be healthy and strong for the time they have them. It’s also important to show kids that the dentist is fun and isn’t someone to be afraid of. Regular teeth cleaning visits, paired with good oral hygiene at home can help build the foundation of a lifetime of good dental health.

Whether your child has one tooth or 20, it’s important to brush with an ADA approved toothpaste and toothbrush and also floss between any teeth that are touching. Preventing plaque buildup and inflamed gums is key and something that you can easily do for your child. Make taking care of your child’s teeth a regular part of their daily routine.

When you visit Dr. Dhillon at Just for Kids Dentistry, you will notice how our whole office is dedicated to making the visit a fun and enjoyable one for you and your child. Our team of hygienists are friendly and compassionate. The office is decorated for kids with lots of amenities they will appreciate. We will let you and your child know exactly what’s happening during each step of the visit. We would love to help make your child’s first pediatric dentistry visit a positive experience.
