Cavities and Kids: Teeth Cleaning In Las Vegas
Parents usually learn early on to choose their battles wisely. It doesn’t really matter, for example, if their child insists on wearing stripes with plaid. But cavities in children is another matter; brushing their teeth is a non-negotiable.
But try explaining that to a kid in the Terrible Twos, let alone the threes and fours. If you’re struggling to get your kids to brush their teeth, here are some tips that may make those battles a little less stressful.
Try a Fun Toothbrush
A cool toothbrush may be just what the doctor, or dentist, ordered! Star Wars characters, Disney princesses, even Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, all adorn kids’ toothbrushes. Some of them even talk.
Make a Game Of It
Games are always more fun, aren’t they? You might brush with your child and make it a challenge: I bet I can brush my teeth better than you can! That may be enough, but it would be a good idea to make sure you don’t win.
Offer an Incentive
Who doesn’t respond to a special inducement? You might, as one example, let your child stay up an extra half hour if she takes a bath and brushes her teeth on time.
Make Up a Story
Your child is the good guy, and food particles are the bad guys. Chase them all away! Make sure those bad guys don’t bring on the super villain cavities!
No matter what strategy you choose, remember that the most important thing is to establish a brushing routine and stick with it. Done right, a daily teeth cleaning routine will turn into a habit that will last a lifetime.
